're:think what's possible': LEONHARD KURZ presents system solutions for high-quality label finishing at Labelexpo Europe 2025

Fürth/Germany, June 17, 2025: Under the motto ‘re:think what's possible,’ LEONHARD KURZ will present innovative system solutions and future-oriented approaches for impressive label finishing at Labelexpo Europe 2025, from September 16 to 19 in Barcelona. As an experienced partner for the entire process chain - from design and pre-press to efficient production and impressive results at the point of sale - KURZ supports customers with creative and economical solutions that are precisely tailored to the requirements of a dynamic market. Starting with the design concept, including digital prototyping for real added value from a single source:

DREAMCOMPOSER®: From design to experience

High-quality label finishing starts with a design idea. One of the highlights of the trade fair presentation is therefore DREAMCOMPOSER®, an intuitive software package for real-time visualization of label designs. In no time at all, uploaded PDF files are transformed into realistic 3D models with high-quality finishing - including accurate representation on original packaging. 4K screenshots and live coordination enable quick and efficient management of design ideas with all project participants. A fully finished digital prototype is available in just a few minutes.

Visitors to Labelexpo Europe can experience live how a prototype becomes a printed label through machine demonstrations: On the DM-UNILINER 3D and a newly developed machine from KURZ subsidiary MPRINT, giving visitors a glimpse of KURZ machines in action. This will be complemented by an interactive demo tool and a presentation of the high-quality hot stamping tools from KURZ subsidiary Hinderer + Mühlich (H+M), which are both visually and haptically impressive. Find out more about the world of machines at KURZ in the next press release.

Focus on transfer products: Elegant designs, functional added value

In addition to exclusive insights into machine technologies and processes, visitors to the booth will ultimately be able to see for themselves the outstanding print results in high quality and impressive color variety - many of them already on particularly thin substrate material (10 or 6 microns), ideal for resource-saving applications. Special highlights of the trade fair presentation are the SILVER LINE® and LUMAFIN® lines, which impress with their inspiring variety of effects and colors. From metallic glossy surfaces to translucent, shimmering designs, they offer an extraordinary range of design options that make every motif a real eye-catcher.

SILVER LINE® enhances labels with a high-quality, luxurious look and is perfect for premium products with high brand standards. Elegant silver-metallic light reflections, impressive 3D effects, and the interplay of reflective and matte surfaces create a special visual depth that gives the impression of movement and makes labels stand out impressively at the point of sale. Whether large-scale motifs or fine embellishments, the various designs of SILVER LINE® offer almost unlimited possibilities, can be overprinted, and are suitable for all common finishing technologies: hot stamping, cold transfer, and digital finishing. As you would expect from KURZ, they deliver reliable and consistent application results.

LUMAFIN® offers equally impressive and versatile effects: the semi-transparent finish allows under printed motifs to shimmer through a layer of glass, creating exciting visual depth and a high-quality spot effect. The finish is available in transparent, transparent metallic, and various colors and is suitable for numerous applications, from cosmetic labels to beverage labels.

Sustainability and efficiency thanks to slim technology

Recyclability and sustainability also play an important role in the ongoing development of KURZ solutions. At Labelexpo Europe, the finishing expert will present the next stage in the development of its slim technology, which impresses with its reduced material usage and optimized coating layers, while at the same time enabling improved finishing with higher gloss. Users benefit from longer production runs and a higher number of running meters per roll.

Thanks to slim technology, the use of PET carrier material is significantly reduced. This means less material consumption, less waste and therefore lower disposal costs, which contributes to a significant reduction in the CO2 footprint. Products such as KPW XU slim and ECOFIN® CWO slim are already based on this innovative technology. The ‘no foil, transfer only’ principle ensures that no plastic film remains on the end product during the finishing process with KURZ products, as the PET carrier is completely removed.

Another important building block for greater sustainability comes from KURZ subsidiary Hinderer + Mühlich (H+M): The company will be presenting high-quality, reliable embossing dies at Labelexpo Europe 2025. These high-precision tools ensure consistently high embossing quality and precision even with reduced material usage. In addition, the dies are made of high-quality, recyclable brass and can make a direct contribution to the sustainability of the entire finishing chain.

KURZ's holistic approach to sustainability is evident at Labelexpo Europe, not least in its RECOSYS® 2.0 take-back and recycling system, which enables the recycling of used carrier materials from selected hot stamping products. KURZ has set itself the long-term goal of achieving a genuine circular economy through RECOSYS® 2.0.
