German Design Awards: LEONHARD KURZ receives award for ‘Box next to Box. two.’

Fürth/Germany, November 25, 2021: The ‘Box next to Box. two.’ by LEONHARD KURZ received a Special Mention at the German Design Awards 2021. KURZ publishes its sample collection of elaborately refined design boxes annually as inspiration for creative packaging design.

Design for innovative packaging concepts

The finishing expert KURZ received a Special Mention in the ‘Excellent Communications Design – Packaging’ category. The Special Mention recognizes pieces with particularly successful design aspects or solutions – an award that honors the dedication of companies and designers.

Every year, KURZ’s interdisciplinary trend team takes a comprehensive look at the latest social trends. The recently awarded design concept brings the current spirit of the times to paper and is continuing the series of packaging collections for which KURZ is regularly scouting for trends. Based on the extensive research, the most important trend topics are identified and translated into an innovative packaging concept. With ‘Box next to Box. two.’, the company makes design tangible and at the same time provides insights into how innovative finishing solutions, colors, structures, and diffractive decors are created, drawing on in-depth research.

Visibility of the design industry

The highly prestigious German Design Award represents the German Design Council’s commitment to identifying, presenting, and honoring unique design trends. This year, KURZ’s design study once again prevailed over a large field of first-class design agencies from all over the world.

“The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world and is highly regarded far beyond specialist circles. The fact that our series has received a Special Mention out of the many top-quality submissions demonstrates once again KURZ’s sophisticated interpretation of design and ability, and proves that we are a valuable and competent partner for packaging design. We are delighted and very proud of this award,” said Annie Kuschel and Julia König, responsible for the design of the box.
